What is my budget?
The answer for this question is the most important thing because you need to make your final decision for choosing a camcorder model based on this answer. Different camcorder models can range from $20 to a few hundred dollars. The price difference is based on resolution or other extra features.

Which media do I prefer?
The most fundamental way to classify camcorders is the type of media to which it records the video data. Each type of media has its own benefits and drawbacks.
